Who is the Real God?

After realizing all things in this universe had order and intelligence behind their creation, I then had to ask myself; "Since there is a God; which one is the real one?" Humans have created and continue to create gods after their own image and imagination. What rules would apply to help me sort out this mess?

Obviously, humans could not make themselves, so the first rule to eliminate false gods was; were they made by mankind? This eliminated most man made religions, especially those that made statues to worship. The Bible also touches on this weird activity where someone makes a statue with his hands, then bows down to worship it. If I made it; how can it be the God who made me? Many religions made images of gods they felt were not god; but just symbols of god. So, the next question I asked was if the god's origin could be traced back to the beginning of time, obviously if this God made us and wanted us to know Him, He would be known from the beginning of creation.

This question eliminated all modern religions and left me with ones that had an ancient history. Most could be traced back to a particular man who started them. The God of the Bible could be traced far back even before Jesus to ancient prophets, before Babylon and to the beginning of written languages. It seemed to be confirmed by many ancient leaders, but not originating with them.

Other ancient religions seemed to be interesting myths and stories either for entertainment or teaching concepts. Clearly filled with fantasies and devoid of useful facts, it was easy to eliminate them. So, the final thoughts I pondered were; if there was a God who made us and wanted to have a relationship with us, what would his qualities be? If He created us to love and be loved, he would teach us how to have a relationship with Him and others. If He wanted us to freely choose to love Him or anyone else; He would give us a free will to make our own choices. Forced love is not true love. If He was the true God of creation, He would teach us right and wrong to make a higher quality of life here, in our relationships, and for a better future. He would be a God of justice. What would be the point in living around others if there was no reward for good or cost and punishment for evil? Opposites define each other. Good can not be understood without evil; light without darkness, etc. The God of the Bible was the only one that passed these tests of logic. So, I felt if He was the real God; He could teach me. If the Bible was His guidebook for humans and a true record of His relationship with humans; the contents would prove themselves to be true. That's were I began my journey in finding the truths of the Bible. I began to explore prophetic, scientific, intuitive/emotional,logical, historical, and every test of truth I could find to challenge and disprove the Bible; but the more I tried; the more it became impossible to doubt this God and His words. Since the day I prayed and asked Him to show me if He was the real God; the evidence has not stopped pouring into my life for over 50 years.
